Spring is here and the studio is buzzing with activity.

Raymond will be giving a drum recording clinic at RRG in May, make sure to sign up early, space is limited!

Lauralaura is almost done with their first record, and it is one of the best things we've ever heard. Fans of 3 part harmony and 60's garage rock will love this group. Raymond is currently in the lineup playing guitar while Count Fleet is on hiatus.

My Own Holiday made an outstanding rock record with Raymond, it's big and nasty, just the way rock music should be.

Naomi Greenwald made a record with Raymond as well, it is on the dark side of indie, think cobwebs and broken hearts.

Also, Raymond is getting married to Bri Ana in June! Hi-fives all around!

New gear includes; a 3rd 1176 compressor from the 70's, a Watkins tape echo from the 70's and a high quality spring reverb unit that will make things sound really far away. We also have two channels of a mixing board used at STAX records! If you are in the mood to make some soul music, these babies are where it's at!

Spring is here in Rancho Park, and the studio is in the middle of a big remodel. Follow us on Twitter to see photos. There will be a taco-truck party in late July to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the studio, let us know if you want to come and we will send along details.

Big congrats to the Parson Redheads for getting signed to Arena Rock Records on the strength of their RRG produced record, Yearling. Raymond has been busy producing bands from all over the US so far this year; straight from the muddy shores of Mississippi, the rootsy indie pop of John Michael and Miami with the Jeff Buckley inflected rock of Tristan Clopet to the heavy sounds of Dandelo from Ohio.

New gear this season includes a new Toft 24 Channel Mixing Board, a Retro Sta-Level tube compressor, a JDK stereo compressor, a Silvertone Jupiter, and a lovable dog named Sadie.

In other fun news, Raymond and Bri Ana are now engaged to be married!

Winter is here, and Raymond has been busy producing the likes of country rockers Honey Honey, the fantastic A House For Lions, as well as comers Torches in Trees. RRG alumni The Fling were just signed to Dangerbird on the strength of the record they co-produced with Raymond and are currently on tour. New gear in the studio includes a Peluso U-47, a Sony C38b, an AKG D19c, a Telefunken V72a, and in non-beatle obsessive new gear, a vintage Roland Space Echo, a Sennheiser 441, a Farfisa Compact organ, a vintage P Bass, an Omnichord synth, and a friendly cat named Slick.

Spring is here and the studio is rife with new gear. We now have a vintage Lowrey Heritage organ with a built in Leslie speaker similar to the one the Beatles used at Abby Road and a Farfisa VIP 255 organ. Raymond recorded one of the songs on the new Henry Clay People CD and produced an EP for the fantasticThe Fall Trees this spring, and well as producing some of the best material to ever come out of the hit machine known as the Parson Red Heads, oh, and a little band Raymond produced called Local Natives played Coachella, no big deal. Sadly the studio has suffered a huge loss in the passing of Alan Rich, my long time friend and owner of the property that the studio lives on. Thanks to his generosity and belief in my quest for superlative sound, he has made sure that the studio will live on. He will always be remembered around here.

Winter is here and exciting things are happening in Rancho Park. Local Natives new record, Gorilla Manor, (produced by Raymond) will come out on Frenchkiss records and are playing Coachella this year! Holy shit! The new Andrew Deadman record is out, as well as a new record from The Idaho Falls. The Idaho Falls are having a record release on Jan 21st at Spaceland. You should come. RRG alumni Red Cortez will also be there that night, and will be recording a 7" for Jax Art records at RRG this month. There is a new Apple 2.66 GHz computer and ProTools system in the studio, making it even easier and faster to make hot songs that will make you super fucking famous. Bands that Raymond produced in 09' that received KCRW airplay; Correatown, Local Natives, Monolators, Salt Petal.

Fall is here and there has been a huge influx of gear over the summer, lucky you! Raymond is currently producing a new Parson Redheads full-length, mostly to tape, and working with The Fling at the Boat and at RRG. New gear includes a 1970's Martin D-18, a Silvertone 1443 Bass with flat wounds on loan from Jen Finch of L7, a Silvertone 1448 Electric Guitar with amp-case, a 1960s Rogers Champagne Sparkle Drum kit (20, 16, 10), a Ludwig Marching bass drum converted to a kick, and a Chandler TG-1 Abby Road Limiter (copy of the compressors on the Beatles Mixing baord).

Summer is here and the studio is humming. Local Natives just finished their new record, and it will come out in November on a great label. Marvelous Toy is starting a new record, and I am their new bassist! Look for us in an echo park bar near you. Groupee.com did a busy weekend of live recordings at the studio, the highlight of which being Great Northern. The Parson Redheads will be making a new record with Raymond at the helm in Sept, expect some harmonized guitar solos! New gear includes a Neve 1084 mic preamp and eq by Brent Averill Enterprises, and a Quad Eight Pacifica mic preamp clone from A-Designs, and an SM-7 for those dark rock vocals.
